Oral translation

In addition to written translations, oral translation (interpretation) is also possible, where the spoken text of a conversation is directly translated from one language to another. There are two basic types of interpretation: simultaneous and consecutive.

Simultaneous interpretation is commonly used at large gatherings or conferences with a substantial number of participants. Translators work from special booths to ensure ideal working conditions because the translation occurs simultaneously with the speech in the foreign language. Due to the intense concentration required, interpreters usually switch places every thirty minutes.

Consecutive interpreting is usually done at business meetings, weddings, in registry or notary offices. During the original language speech, the translator takes notes. After the speaker presents part of the text, they pause for the translator to render the spoken text into the foreign language.

Multilingual combinations with 21 European languages are also possible.
