Price list

Price formation

It is important to know that the formation of the price of a translation depends on many factors:

  • Certification of translation – certified translations are often more expensive. Most documents need to be certified to be valid for use in foreign countries.
  • Language of translation – minor languages may be more expensive.
  • Time required for producing a quality translation – the shorter the deadline, the lower the probability of a discount. The quality of our translation is our greatest pride and the foundation of every trust-based collaboration, which is why urgent translations are charged at an urgent rate.
  • Complexity and length of the original text – we may offer a discount for longer texts.
  • Possible additional formatting or editing – this is sometimes the case with more demanding catalogues and brochures.

Price

The base price for 1 translation card (1500 characters without spaces) is EUR 20 without VAT. However, this base price can change depending on the factors mentioned above.

If possible, we are happy to accommodate, therefore, for standardized documents or longer texts, we can offer you a discount. Rest assured that we will always do our best to accommodate you as much as possible in this regard!

Card

To form our prices, we use a unit of measurement called a “card”.
A card is calculated as 1500 characters without spaces or 1800 characters with spaces.
The term “character” refers to any letter, number, punctuation, or other symbol – in other words, everything except whitespace (blank space).
According to the Regulation on Court Interpreters, a written translation is calculated per line of 50 characters. The smallest billing unit is one card with 30 lines. Each typed character (letter, punctuation, formula, symbols) counts as one character.
You can easily check the number of cards in a document in Word by selecting the “Review” option and then “Word count“. You need to divide the number of characters (without spaces) by 1500, or the number of characters (with spaces) by 1800, and the result will be the total number of cards in the document.

Time

The turnaround time for translation depends on the quantity and complexity of the text that the court interpreter needs to translate. According to the standard tariff, a court interpreter can translate 4 cards of text from Croatian to a foreign language and 6 cards of text from a foreign language to Croatian per working day. We translate a slightly higher number of cards per day, and the deadlines we provide in our offer are always our earliest availability.

If there is a specific deadline by which you need the translation, please be sure to mention it in your request, and we will do our best to accommodate it as much as possible.
